Nottingham-based company Profitmaster is making a real impact on businesses throughout the country, thanks to its software system. One of its clients, ERF Electrical Wholesalers Ltd has already seen the enormous benefits of the system since it was rolled out in 1998. “We were looking for a solution because our existing one had become outdated and slow”, reports Vicki Partridge, IT Manager at ERF. “We actually looked at a number of systems, but we were most impressed by Profitmaster because they offered a good training and support package as well as full payroll functionality”.

Vicki agrees: “The database queries are a vast improvement on our previous system. With the old software, it was often easier and quicker to search for hard copies of documents. The queries enable us to key in small phrases or questions and quickly download information”.

The system is designed to provide instant access to information, enabling companies to answer customer questions quickly and professionally. It also provides instant access to quotations and sales orders, Telesales, profitability control, credit control, stock level optimisation, messaging and management reports. “With Profitmaster, it's’s all there”, says Vicki. “Hotkeys are definitely a valuable asset. Having the ability to easily hop straight out of one part of the program and go into other areas saves us a huge amount of time”.

As a total solution, ERF has found the Profitmaster system easily adaptable to changing business dynamics. At a time when all businesses are striving to improve their internal communication, Vicki reports that ERF uses the messaging system extensively. “We don’t have a corporate Intranet, but the Profitmaster messaging functionality enables us to communicate throughout our organisation”.

Today, the Profitmaster system lies at the heart of ERF’s business and is used by up to 100 members of its staff. As ERF continues to thrive and expand, the system is being upgraded to reflect the company’s growing business needs. “We will continue to work with Profitmaster to enhance the program and ensure that our computer systems remain up to date”, comments Vicki.
